HyperVRE is a new software package created by SEO Expert Brad Callen’s brother Matt Callen. I first heard about HyperVRE a few weeks back and did some investigation into it and was not that impressed. I’m not a big fan of sites that are created specifically for generating ad revenue. They are usually not that helpful when I’m searching for something.
What finally got me interested in checking it out and writing this review was that I heard Matt was a student of Mike Filsaime's Butterfly Marketing. I too am a big follower of Mike’s products, so I figured Matt might have something useful to web marketers and niche site builders.
So exactly what does HyperVRE do for you? Simply put, it builds you a niche website in only a few minutes of work. You no longer need to build these niche websites from scratch with your own content! Here are some bullets from the HyperVRE main site:
• Generate THOUSANDS of fresh, unique content-rich webpages from highly targeted keywords lists.
• Add extremely targeted auto-refreshing content to your website by using rotating keyword definitions. By adding rotating content that his highly targeted to your keywords, search engines will rank your site high in the rankings.
• Keep your content fresh by placing several rotating RSS feeds. Having these feeds will keep your content fresh and unique in the eyes of the search spiders.
• Include a high quality article based around the main keyword for the page
• Add your Google Adsense ads on each and every page. For that matter you can use any Contextual based ad service, but HyperVRE targets Adsense users. I’ll talk more about this later.
• Use the power of pay per click ads with the potential of affiliate payouts by creating your own contextual ad links. These are created dynamically and placed within the content of your pages.
• The ability to use your own affiliate IDs: Clickbank, Amazon.com, or whatever else.
• Quick search engine ranking by use of a “perfect linking structure”.
HyperVRE seems like a “to good to be true” software package, especially considering anyone can get a free copy. That’s right, it is free to everyone. Granted, some of the more powerful revenue generating features are disabled in the free version. But even the stripped down version is quite powerful.
So does HyperVRE stand up to its claims? Let’s find out by building a sample niche website.
Step 1: Let’s load up HyperVRE and establish your keywords
Your first screen should look something like this:
Choose “New Project”.
In order for HyperVRE to do its thing, you must choose your main keyword. This is obviously the most important thing when building niche websites. For this example, I’ve chosen fitness as my main keyword.
This main keyword is the catalyst for HyperVRE’s powerful site building system. Once you’ve entered in the main keyword, you can use HyperVRE to create a list of expanded keywords to base your site on. You can either use an external keyword list generator or use the built in suggestion tool. In this example, I’m using the suggestion tool to show the power of the software.
Clicking on the “Suggested Keywords” button brings up a new screen. The new screen has two options to search: Get Keywords and Get Tons of Keywords. The Get Keywords will generate up to 99 keywords. The Get Tons of Keywords will generate more, but will be less targeted.
Once HyperVRE finishes finding your keywords, you should see a screen like this:
At this point, you can narrow down your keyword list by selected the words you do not want and hitting the Remove Selected button. Your other options is to Select All keywords and manipulate the list on the main page. Either method you choose, you must first make your selections and then add them to the master list. Once completed, hit the close button. You should then be taken back to the main screen with your newly selected keyword list.
From here, you can sort your list or remove keywords you do not want or need. In this example, I’m just going to include all the generated keywords.
To proceed to the next section of the software, make sure you’ve selected your keywords, and then hit Next.
Step 2: Site template selection
One of the nice things about this software is that you can build your own templates or use the free bonus templates provided to you when you download the software. In this example, I’ve chosen to use the provided templates to save myself some time.
Another item of note is that HyperVRE can build you site as HTML or PHP. For the most basic niche site, HTML will work just fine, but to really harness the power of this software, you really want to generate PHP based sites.
With these items completed, you can move to the next section by hitting Next.
Step 3: Site Content Generation
In this section there are three configuration options: 1) # of keywords per group, 2) Options to include like RSS Feeds, Fixed Definitions, Rotating Definitions, Random Descriptions, 3) % of RSS before and after the articles, 4) Manual Content Selection. The last option is only available to users who select to upgrade to the Gold version.
The # of keywords per group determines the number of keyword links that will be displayed on each of the pages. In this section you have the choice to re-use content for keywords that do not have available content or discard keywords when content is not available. My personal take is that you should discard keywords that have no relevant content.
The Options group tells HyperVRE what type of content to find. Articles is automatically chosen as it is the basis for the content. Choosing RSS Feeds tells the software to find relevant news feeds. Fixed Definitions basically tells the software not to rotate content when a page is refreshed or a visits another page. Rotating Definitions, should be self explanatory. Random Descriptions rotates short descriptions of the articles. Choosing this option will add the article title, author, and a very short excerpt for the article content as well as a hyperlink to the actual article.
This is where using PHP or HTML must be decided. In order for RSS feeds, Rotating Definitions, and Random Descriptions, you must choose PHP from the previous section. For the beginner out there, your web host or you own server must have PHP already installed. (I’ll provide more info about obtaining PHP at the end of the review)
Let’s move on… hit Next.
Step 4: Find RSS Feeds
Like the previous screens, choosing your RSS feeds is a simple matter.
As you can see, I’ve already entered “fitness” into the search textbox. HyperVRE will take my keyword and search the web for relevant feeds. Once the feeds are found, you can add them to your content by hitting the Add to Master List button. Once you’ve added the feeds to your list, you can do another search for more keyword based feeds.
Very easy and simple. Hit Next.
Step 5: Other Customization
Only three items to enter: Site Header Text (The name of your site), The header image, and the footer image.
Seems real easy right? Maybe not. For whatever reason I could not get the included templates to include any of my images. I didn’t want to write my own template, so I suspect that is the problem. With that said, with a little HTML/PHP knowledge, customizing the output pages is not a big deal.
Step 6: Pay-Per-Click Publishing
Here is the real money maker for the free version. Adding your PPC code will monetize your niche site in seconds!
You can add up to three blocks of code to maximize your contextual ad placement.
I want to point out that HyperVRE specifically talks about Adsense revenue. Since my Adsense account has disabled, I could not test with Adsense. Instead I used AdBrite to test this feature. Works no problem… which leads me to believe any contextual ad based code will work just fine.
Hit Next.
Step 7: Affiliate Product Selection.
As you can see from the image, this option is only available in the paid for version. But as you can see, it allows you to automatically enter in your Amazon, clickbank, paydotcomm IDs. There is also an option that will allow you to manually enter in other affiliate ids and products. This alone is worth the upgrade price.
Hit Next.
Step 8: Contextual Ad Settings
Again, this section is only available in paid for versions of HyperVRE.
Hit Next.
Step 9: Generate Web Pages
Guess what, we’re almost done. Tell HyperVRE where to save the webpages and project files and you’re done. Well, you can choose to Upper Case or Lower Case your site output files.
Step 10: Upload the files to your web server and that’s it.
Check out two sites I created in a matter of minutes. These are really just sample sites created using the included templates. For best results, creating your own templates, or at least modifying the included templates is required.
12/14/2006 Update: Test Sites are down while we move our servers to a new location...
If you took a look at the pages that HyperVRE generated you will notice a lack of images and an overall displeasing layout. When you download the free version of the software, you have access to 10 free templates. I personally did not find one I liked. But I think with some time spent creating your own template, the software output will be much improved.
Despite that the included templates need work, there is not much else to complain about. It took me a total of 5 minutes to create each of the sample sites.
The free version of HyperVRE makes creating niche content website a breeze. By upgrading to the Gold package, you’re given more control of the types of revenue generating ads you can display.
In addition to the controls made available in the Gold Version here is a list of the other bonuses for upgrading:
- • Access to the HyperVRE Gold Member’s Only Forum
- • Top 40K keywords ($97 Value)
- • Virtual Real Estate Explosion eBook ($47 Value)
- • Surprise Mystery Gift – I only can tell you it will help generate traffic to your site.
Overall HyperVRE is a fantastic product for creating niche websites. Whether you choose to use the free version or upgrade to the Gold package, you have the opportunity to greatly enhance your ability to build niche content website in a matter of minutes.
This is bar none the best niche content building generator available today! If you are someone who is already building niche sites or even a new comer into this arena, you should check out HyperVRE।
